At Sky-Skan we have strict guidelines about the use of antivirus software on our systems, but the idling of many planetariums offers our clients a unique opportunity to contribute their unused DigitalSky computing power to the cause of the day, a use we enthusiastically endorse.

By connecting to a unique shared computing initiative created by the University of California, Berkeley, Miami’s Frost Museum of Science and the University of Maine’s Emera Astronomy Center & Jordan Planetarium are providing planetarium processing power to help researchers with the computationally intensive work of predicting protein structures that could help fight the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sky-Skan clients interested in finding out whether their DigitalSky computers can be used in this effort should contact support@skyskan.com.
