This popular and well-loved story has been updated with accurate astronomical information.

The Little Star That Could is a story about Little Star, an average yellow star in search for planets of his own to protect and warm. Along the way, he meets other stars, learns what makes each star special, and discovers that stars combine to form star clusters and galaxies. Eventually, Little Star finds his planets. Each planet is introduced to audiences with basic information about our Solar System.

Talented artists responsible for the new show include Mark Howard and Joe Tucciarone of the Astronaut Memorial Planetarium in Cocoa, Florida. Directed by Willie Castro of Willie Castro Animation, Inc. The new musical score was produced by John Avarese of JAV Productions.

The Longest Night

The Morehead team seamlessly weaves together live-action video of world-class puppeteers with beautiful and intricate fulldome animation to create this innovative and imaginative show.

Magic Globe: A Story of the Seasons

On vacation at her grandpa’s, a little girl Mia accidentally discovers a mysterious piece of astronomical machinery. Edmund, Mia’s eccentric uncle, tricks the girl into using the tool’s secret powers to change the world’s seasons. She realizes the consequences of what they are going to do, but Edmund doesn’t want to let the plan go.

“Magic Globe” is an engaging story designed to interest and challenge children from 5 to 12 years old. It has a clear educational structure with all science-related topics broken down into manageable chunks and naturally woven into the storyline. It allows children to recap knowledge they already have as well as learn multiple new concepts while following the story, which makes it perfect for mixed-ability audiences.

The movie is available in Fulldome 8K. Its stunning visuals have been created by the artists involved in such well-received Fulldome productions as “Dream to Fly,” “Hello Earth,” and “Explore.”

Mars 1001

The international IRIS 1 crew is about to embark on the first interplanetary journey in history, the first manned mission to the surface of Mars. Science reporter Miles O’Brien is reporting live from his Space Headquarters TV Studio in New York while events unfold for the crew on their daring 1001 day long mission.

We will witness firsthand their brave attempts to put human footprints on Mars and return safely to Earth. Minotaur

In this short animation, the archetypal hero takes a journey through seven stages: birth, childhood, mission, labyrinth, monster, battle, and death/rebirth. Through purely abstract, moving images, the corresponding emotional states are conveyed: calm, love, joy, surprise, fear, anger/hate, and death/rebirth, leading again to calm. The cycles continue until the stars burn out and there is nothing left.

Molecularium

Welcome to Molecularium: a magical, musical adventure into the world of molecules! Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Molecularium is an exciting new animation, in a planetarium setting, created to spark interest in the atoms and molecules that constitute our world.

The show follows a cast of characters, based on atoms, as they move throughout the universe from the perspective of a magical ship, also called the Molecularium. The ship can view matter on both the human and molecular levels.

 

The Molecularium project is part of the educational and outreach
program of RPI’s National Science Foundation (NSF) funded Nanoscale Science
and Engineering Center for Directed Assembly of Nanostructures.
